Now for you, you might had a faulty dongle but if you can diagnose that the dongle is indeed working (blinking lights), I would try my steps, it very inexpensive.Guitars Hero InformationGuitar Hero Ps2 Red Octane 2005 Highest Graded! Wata 9.8!! Vintage!. This is much easier and which I knew about that trick before. When the solder heats up, you can push the capacitor in and cut the pins then remove the old capacitor. When you remove the old capacitor, heat the pins and push on the capacitor, don't pull. If you replace the capacitor, just leave extra length for the pins and bend the capacitor on the side. ![]() the capacitor i had replaced was blocking and I might have cracked the board or chipped it (i can see a little damage, maybe it was the heat from my soldering gun.). Put when I screwed the PCB back in, it was tight and I didn't think. If anyone want to try fixing it, you need 220uF 10V capacitor and 68uF 16V.Īfter changing the 220uF 10V capacitor and inserting batteries into the guitar, my guitar synced in a flash of a second, the receiver light turned off and blinked when I pressed keys, confirming the sync was fine. I ordered it and will try to replace it and see if it works again. It's a 68uf 16V, which is different from the PS3 guitar. I think i chipped the board or burned the other capacitor, the one I couldn't replace. I have another guitar that I had for years now which is for PS3 and I had to change the capacitors on it, so I did the same thing on the PS2 guitar and it was working for a moment until a put the screws in. I really want to use that guitar, it's almost brand-new and it has the second row of fret on it, which is really neat!īuying another dongle won't do anything, I found the solution which I expected in the beginning. I'm down to open it and dismantle a PS2 controller to make it wired if I need too. I had to replace capacitors on my PS3 guitar, so maybe I need to do the same on this guitar?Ĭould it be that the power is too low to sync them? What type of connection are they making? IR? Or a wireless antenna ? When I hold the receiver button, I can see it flash slowly which I recall being the sync mode.Īnyone experienced this issue and found a fix? I tried with 4 different new batteries and they all work in my PS3 guitar. I tried pressing the Sync button on the receiver and the green fret to connect but they both just keep flashing. I have this guitar for World Tour that came with the game and the receiver that you plug in a controller, been using for years but they were in storage for a few years now so I took them out of the box and plugged them into my PS2 and they won't sync. ![]()
